Car accident,not my fault.Other party's insurance agency trying to reimburse from me.?

I met with an accident recently.I was driving a rental vehicle and had visa CDW insurance.I had no third party liability insurance.Now the other party’s insurance agency send me a notice saying that i need to reimburse their loss,claiming that it was my fault.So please guide me on how to approach this situation.Could i deny their claim saying like it was not my fault?Is it a problem that i had no liability insurance?
